VPDC’s new Executive Leadership

Vision Properties Development Corporation appointed industry veteran, Engr. Alberto A. Ignacio, Jr., as its President and Chief Executive Officer

On 9 November 2020, it was announced that construction industry veteran, Engr. Alberto A. Ignacio, Jr., was appointed as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Vision Properties Development Corporation (VPDC).

At the VPDC General Assembly: State of the Business Address, last 23 April 2021, VPDC Director and Chief Finance Officer Mr. Peter Tan-Chi, Jr. expressed his excitement with having Ignacio on board, and went on to add that “...we want Albert to be the CEO with full authority and ability to direct the business” – fully confident in Ignacio’s ability to grow and develop the company. Further to this, in reference to the organizational change that took place, VPDC Director and Operations Head Harrier T. Ongsun said that “it has been a very smooth ride between the three of us [Tan-Chi, Ongsun, and Ignacio], especially between me and Albert. We got Albert for his maturity”.

Ignacio has over three decades of experience and expertise in design, construction, and project management. In his long-tenured career, Ignacio has amassed an impressive list of accomplishments throughout the civil infrastructure landscape – holding senior and critical management roles in Aboitiz Construction Inc., First Balfour Inc., Jaka Investments Corporation, Laguna Property Holdings, and Jebsen & Jessen Singapore.

Upon joining the company in November 2020, Ignacio said that: “I had the privilege of working with young and dynamic members of the board of Vision Properties Development Corporation. A very challenging year because of the pandemic but a very supportive board. I started reviewing the company’s organization, strategy and its current business management system. While only 11 years in the construction business, it has completed 39 projects, with 14 ongoing projects, and despite the current situation, has been able to secure new orders.”

In his new role, Ignacio will be at the forefront of driving the growth, transformation, and development of the business. Looking forward to his new vision for the business, he said that:

"In 2021 we are launching a company-wide transformation program – strengthening our business management system, upgrading the company’s accreditation as a contractor, and focusing on talent development and retention. This is geared towards improvement of performance of the company and being on the path for sustainable growth. Faced with the new challenges of the current situation, we believe that what brought the company to where it is now will not bring the company where it wants to go – we have to adapt to changes and transform to become competitive.”
